Obituary

James J. "Jim" Larsen, age 89, late of Lockport, IL, formerly of Brookfield. Cherished husband of Betty nee Jarvis; loving uncle of Deborah (Gary) Oyenik or Crete, Illinois, Patricia (Mike) Hilfiker of Crown Point, Indiana, and Steven (Buena) Brown of Griffith, Indiana; grand-uncle of seven and great grand-uncle of 3. Beloved brother of the late Roy (Barbara) Larsen of Phoenix, Arizona. Son of the late Andrew and Dagny nee Miller. Jim was a graduate of the Purdue University School of Engineering in West Lafayette, Indiana. He went on to have a successful career as a chemical engineer with Victor-Reinz Gasket a division of Dana Corporation before retiring in 1991. In his free time he enjoyed wood working, fishing, model trains, traveling with his wife Betty, and growing fruit trees. A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, August 27th from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Club House at Lago Vista, 16800 Lago Vista Drive, Lockport, IL. In lieu flowers, please make memorial contributions in Jim's name to Guidingeyes.org a program providing trained dogs to people with vision loss.
