age 74, formerly of Dalton and Lansing, late of Dyer, IN, suddenly. Cherished mother of Robert Jr. (Haley) of Clive, IA, and the late Bradford of Las Vegas; loving grandmother of Nicholas and Eliot Stomp; beloved sister of the late Roy Harman and Lois Konjevich.
Susan was a 1965 graduate of Thornridge H.S. She went on to earn a bachelor’s and master’s in special education and counseling from Northwestern University before beginning a long career with the Chicago Public Schools. Assignments included Joshua D. Kershaw, Douglas Taylor Elementary and the Pulaski International School. She retired from CPS in 2006 but remained active in the field of education as a testing instructor for the National Education Association.
Sue’s passions included animals, Chicago history and the arts. She was a member of the Autobahn Society and the World Wildlife Foundation.
In accordance with her wishes, a graveside Inurnment service will be held on Thursday, March 24th at 11:00 a.m. at Cedar Park Cemetery, 12540 S. Halsted St, Calumet Park. Family and friends will gather at the cemetery main entrance beginning at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to World Wildlife Foundation or The American Heart Association.
